The Rev. Carol Hancock, Rector

Carol graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1985 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1986. After spending 10 years in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, she moved to northern Virginia, where she has done Interim Ministry for the past 20 years and has served 9 parishes. Carol began at St. Johnís in January 2014 as the Interim Rector. In 2015 she was appointed the Priest-in-Charge at St. John's, and in the fall of 2017 accepted the position as Rector.

The Rev. Steve Busch, Deacon

Steve completed Deacon School Training in January 2021 and was ordained to the vocational deaconate on April 19, 2021. Prior to attending Deacon School, which included a year as intern at St Johnís, Steve was Ministries coordinator and Director of Parish Operations at The Falls Church Episcopal. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, Steve was an infantry officer in the Marine Corps, retiring after 21 years service in 1997 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then worked as a Business Strategy and Change Management Consultant for IBM Consulting until 2016, the year he began the process to ordained ministry.

Amanda Hull, Organist/Director of Music

Amanda has a long history of serving congregations as their organist/choir director in several different denominations. She is very familiar with the Episcopal liturgy and looks forward to working with our choir and building our music program. Amanda also works as a teacher for children with special needs. .
