Funeral for Ted McCord

Ted McCord - former resident-curator of Mt. Gilead House, professor of history at George Mason University, and local historian - passed away this week. A funeral service will be held in the St. John's historic church Saturday, August 23 with visitation at 1 PM, followed by the service at 2 PM.
If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, consider the Fairfield Foundation or the Page-Nelson Society. Ted left his very large collection of books on Virginia history to the Fairfield Foundation, which oversees the ruins of Rosewell, the home of John Page, subject of Ted's historical research. Rosewell is also supported by the Page-Nelson Society. More locally, Ted supported the Historic Centreville Society and the Alexandria Association.
